CancerCompass message board discussion started by ohiomike on 1/18/2008 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,19869,0.htm Fri, 29 Aug 2008 00:00:00 GMT Fri, 29 Aug 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ My wife was diagnosed with carcinoid Nov., 2006 and has been on Sandostatin LR since that time.  We just learned that a pump can be used instead of the monthly injections and that the pump will maintain a more even level of the drug.  We would be interested in any comments from others who are using the pump as to advantages / disadvantages; how the sandostatin is kept "fresh" since it's normally refrigerated; Where did you obtain the pump--did your Dr. have to write an order?  Anything you can tell us would be helpful as we no virtually nothing at this time.Thanks,Mike Hardy ohiomike Fri, 18 Jan 2008 00:00:00 GMT
