Info on Tarceva

Go to Tarceva.com. There is also information there regarding free meds if your insurance won't cover it. They send it to my mom for free because it is not covered under Medicare. There are side effects, but my mother has been on it for five days and is doing fine. So sorry to hear of your husband's illness. It causes a lot of stress on the entire family-we will keep you in our prayers.

New Drug

My Dad has been on Tarceva 150mg since March 2005. Side effects for him have been a acne like rash on his face and neck. We have tried a few thing for the rash. Recently he has begun washing with Dial soap 3 times a day. It has seemed to help. Not sure if it is the soap or just his body getting use to the drug and the rash going away. Some have said the rash improves over time. He also has cracks in the tips of his fingers. Other than these two things he has tolerated the drug quite well. Doctor wants him on it another 2 months and than a CT scan to see how it is working. The drug has not been out for very low approved for Lung Cancer in the Fall of 2004. I have not been able to find anyone on the drug more than a few months. There is also a new drug called Avastin. It is used with Chemo and has had promising results in trials. We are hoping it will be approved for Lung Cancer Treatment soon and will try this drug next. God bless you and your husband in your journey.

Thank you for your info on your dad. I hope he does well. We have been getting all the info we can before he takes the new drug, some times we feel so overwhelmed that we are not sure what to do. Thanks again and God be with you both.
