final stage of gastric cancer

Hi , My father is diagnosed with Gastric Cancer.Specifically the diagnosis is"signet ring carcinoma of gastric sub-mucosa of stomach" He was being treated in Pune,IndiaThey attempted a surgery to remove a tumor. But it was not successful as doctors said the cancer is spread and there is no use of removing the tumor.Doctor is also of the opinion that Chemotherapy won't be useful and it would cause too many side effects.According to them, there is no cure for this in allopathy. Can you please advise whether there could be a possible cure for this?Currently, he is undergoing homeopathy and ayurvedic treatment.

I do NOT know if there is a cure. Do some research and get some alternate opinions. If they say there is no cure, why are they worried about 'side effect.' If the option is death, I am inclined to lean toward aggressive chemo and management of the side effects. You need some other opinions. The sooner the better.

How is your Father? My Dad too has been diagnosed with Stomach Cancer Stage IV he was to have a gastrectomy but they found it had spread to his liver and pancreas so they have done a by-pass to make him comfortable for as long as possible. We are in the UKHe has decided against chemo as it was not curative but I am keen to try, explore, investigate anything, anywhere that might give him a ray of hope.My thoughts are with you - I feel very sad, frustrated and helpless.Best wishesAlice

Hi ,2 chemo sessions are performed on my father. During 2nd chemo,he got server stomach pain and was operated immediately. This surgery was successful .They found out that there is no tumor left at all and there is no need of further chemo sessions. This was happened in the first week of May. But ,now ,he is not able to eat/drink anything due to severe nausea. We have tried many solutions . but till day, there is no much improvement. He is becoming weaker day by day. Could you please suggest something? Thanks & Regards ,Manasi
