I took 1-2 mg Ativan at bedtime. It did help but I would wake early (4-5am). So I just went into work early. It is a benzo. but I didn't have any problems stopping it. Just have to taper yourself off. I was told it would cause sleepiness and to take it mine at supertime. However, one time I took it a little later and did some work around the house until approx. 9:00 p.m. went to bed at 10:00 and NEVER got to sleep. I was up the entire night. What really surprised me was that the next day I was not tired. Also, does your husband do any exercises in the morning? Any walking throughout the day?
