I'm looking for anyone that may have gone to either the Issels or IMAQ (Dr. Castillo) clinics in Mexico. I would like opinions about the clinics

Hi there- My father just got back from Mexico at the Oasis of Hope hostpital (Feb 14th, 08) he has PC cancer that had spread to the bones. I think the treatment themselves are good and the care was pretty good too... so now we just have to wait and see what and how he will do. he has to go back in 3 month for another 6 day stay. the hospital was okay - nice for mexico i guess... but i guess i was expecting it to be very nice room wise since we do pay 25,000 for it. but again it was not bad though... typical mexico they even expected the nurses to get tipped (we said no and that it was not ethical).. but again i am glad he went since it is the actual treatment that i cared about. now we jsut have to see what happens .... So, if you look into that i would say yes or go to Issels... it better than getting chemo and radiation and it least you feel like your are being treated and not being butured! when someone is in stage iv you have to try it all... Sophia

I myself have just returned from the Issels Clinic in Tijuana last Thursday. I was just there for a follow up (my first one) since the 4 weeks treatment last September. I was only there for 5 days. So I am just getting over the long flights. Its a long way back to England. I have Lung cancer, which is into the lymph nodes. All tumours and lymph nodes have drastically reduced since I started this treatment.I was diagnosed last July stage 3b, no treatment offered just pallative care. so that is why I went to Issels. I have just about finished my course of vaccines,,,,, Did you get home safely with them? The diet seems very strange at first at home, but you soon get used to cooking things. I find Tescos is about the best supermarket for Organic fruit and veg. And a good juicier is important, the cheaper ones does not squeeze the juice out so much, I went for Breville one, it was about £80 in Comet. It is good to hear of someone else who has been to Oasis. Carolyn
