Hi,My husband was just diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Large B Cell Lymphoma. It went straight to his bones in both legs. In his case, the cancer did not start in the lymphe nodes. I am curious if there are any other people who have been diagnosed in this way? He is due to start RCHOP therapy tomorrow. I'm looking to find out about prognosis/rate of cure? Thanks!MSgtCronin

RE: Bone

Sounds sooo familiar. My husbands pain was in all his joints. We thought maybe arthritis at first. After 4 months of low grade fevers, went from 240 lbs. to 170 lbs. and he is 6 foot 2.......4 specialists, 2 ER's and finally they say it's either lymphoma or leukemia. My husband says it's crazy when your are rooting for one type of cancer over the other. It was Non-hodgkins, Highly aggressive B-Cell lymphoma Stage 4. He's completed 8 rounds of chemo, was admitted for 4-5 days every 3 weeks since April 2007. Finished up in late Sept. Then had scans in Nov. again, they said everything looks good. Now he did have a port put into his brain for chemo to be administered to his spinal fluid because he has tumors in his spine. He still has that once a month until May 2008. But all the symptoms are back for about 2 weeks now. He had an appt. for today, that he missed due to road and weather conditions, but tonight he started running 103 degree fever!!! We got it down to 101.4 right now with a double dose of Tylenol, but I think we will be paging Dr. Evens in the morning to see what the next step should be. My husband is only 33 years old. I can't beleive this is happening. How old is your husband?? The chemo will be hard on him. Let me know if you ever need to talk. I have crying spells all the time. It's normal I guess. When my husband lost all his hair, was so rail thin, I wanted to take down all the pictures of us, because it just seemed like that wasn't even him in the pics. Right now he finally looks normal, but starting to deteriorate again sorta quickly. I've read and read on this, feel like I could be an Oncologist. I know I could for sure diagnose it!!! Just seems like alot of young people are getting Cancer. It's very SCARY! Right? I know I am rambling, and will go for now. I will say a Prayer for you and your husband. Try to stay strong and positive. Keep him positive, it's very important.Shelly

Hi Shelly,Thanks for replying to me. My husband is 60 years old...NEVER been sick a day in his life until this mess. I am 42 yrs. old. We just got married in October 07....we've been together for 8 years, though, so I'm not feeling sorry for myself that we don't have the typical happy newlywed bliss. Bliss Cancer is not!He just went in for a ruptured patella tendon operation....I guess the orthopedist saved his life....at least I hope so! We'll see how this all goes. His first round of chemo has been, so far, very good for him. He only had a couple of nights of the night sweats. He has gained a few pounts..I guess from the prednosone they gave him on the start of each round?I know about the crying spells....been there, done that. Now, I'm just angry, I guess, that this THING has invaded our lives. WHY? He just retired from the military....back in May 07. But, then, reading your reply, I feel so selfish....you're husband is only 33 years old. How old are you? Do you have children? This must be so difficult for you. I lost my father to cancer back in 1992. I think that if they had the technology they do today, he may have been still alive. Don't give up hope! I am in NY...where are you? I will say a prayer for you and your husband and family. Keep the strength, and I will ALWAYS be here for you if you need to talk also. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon!Marie
