Sutent

My Brother got his kidney removed in octber 2006 but Marks / traces were not clear. Dr recommended to folowup with CT in Jan found lymph node started sutent in Feb...got better result eventually stopped sutent in Oct. Got CT in oct all was Ok he had few nodules in lungs which were cleared in Oct CT. Got PET - CT in Nov and all was clear but multiple nodules were present in Lungs for shich Doc recommened to followup.Got CT in Jan 08 and found number of nodules in Lungs both lungs which were not present in OCT CT but wre there in Nov PET CT but Doc says disease stable and no need to sutent just need follow up after 2 - 3 months with CT. I dont know but its strange that when all the nodules vanished in OCt scan then how can so many nodules appear in Nov PET which we missed as they did not show any acivity in PET and also Dr did not pointed out any thing. But when Jan 08 CT was preformed first Dr compared it with Oct scan and pointed out that the disease has spread a lot. But when we pointed out to compare it with PET-Scan of Nov then he said Disease is stable and we just need to followup after 2 month scan. I am worried if we are following right path or what should we do. Kindly comment.

RE: Sutent

My fathers doc says that the Pet Scan does NOT work as well as the CT (cat) scan for the aspect of showing this disease. A ct scan works better for detection for Kidney- Renal cancer. Maybe if the pet scan isnt showing up ask about the ct-scan with contrast.
