He only said that long term use of steriods has cause her bone in her knee to DIE!!! May be it is the same as you? If ever you need someone CALL ME!! We all help each other and care for each other. Ha HaMelxox  melanie and carol Fri, 01 Feb 2008 00:00:00 GMT Cath!  I've been sitting here for awhile, not knowing what to say to you!  Are you alright?  At first I had no clue what you were talking about and then I looked up Osteonecrosis.  What a blow!    I'm so sorry Cath!  Hang in there!  Cath, you sound like a lady that has a lot of support.  Are you okay that way?  Times like this you need someone near to you!  I haven't cried for a couple days, this time its for you!  What a horrible horrible disease.  Antibiotics for pain? Do you have pain Cath?  I am thinking you sweetie, huggggggggggs!   patients daughter Fri, 01 Feb 2008 00:00:00 GMT Not to worry -- I do have lots of support -- most important is my wonderful Bob!  Yes, I have a bit of pain, but the doc gave me a prescription for 500mg Keflex to keep on hand in case it flares up and becomes more painful.  Basically I can't have any dental work -- except filling replacements if necessary, but no extractions or root canal type work -- anything that might deal with the jaw bone.  Don't cry for me -- save your tears for people with real problems -- I'm not being heroic, just practical!  Its not all that bad, yet...and hopefully now that I know what is happening we can take steps to ensure that it doesn't develop into anything more serious.  This is just a real case of mentioning everything to your oncologist -- it may not be connected to your cancer, but...somethimes it is!!  Best to know so that you can plan.  I was initially upset, but as the afternoon has progressed I'm now at ease with what has happened and am looking at it through positive eyes -- its only one spot, it could have been the whole jaw --pain is annoying, but it could be excruciating -- things could be much worse!  I'm blessed with a wonderful family and friends -- which extends to many of the members of this board!!  Sorry I lost my cool for a moment when I first came home -- it took a few hours to come to grips with it, but honestly I'm ok now!!  Thanks for your support!!  Cath poppy/cath Fri, 01 Feb 2008 00:00:00 GMT I admire you so much Cath!  Your like my father.  He's our strength, as you are everyones strength.  I have learned alot from you in our few posts together.  Be positive and stay strong.  Today is a great day, and we can deal with tomorrow when it comes!!  As I look out my window and see my mom and dad walking down the street.  God I love them so much!! patients daughter Fri, 01 Feb 2008 00:00:00 GMT Hi PD ~ Robert is away and the computer has generated sending me what seems to be a part of his article.  You offered before to forward on to me what had been sent to you -- I'd really appreciate it if you would send it on to me now.  I can't seem to open what the Issels Center has sent to me.  I'd appreciate your help with this one!!  Many thanks, Cath poppy/cath Sun, 03 Feb 2008 00:00:00 GMT Cath!  How can I send it to you.  It will be too much to post here.  Is there a way you can get me your e-mail address?  I know they don't allow you to post it on this site.  How can we do this. patients daughter Sun, 03 Feb 2008 00:00:00 GMT You are able to post e mail addresses through the private message feature.On 2/3/2008 patients daughter wrote:Cath!  How can I send it to you.  It will be too much to post here.  Is there a way you can get me your e-mail address?  I know they don't allow you to post it on this site.  How can we do this.
