PDT

My husband's tumor has returned in his esophagus. He is not a surgery candidate. He had 19 weeks of chemo, and was in remission. Latest endoscopy showed a "nodule". His oncologist said to wait for the biopsies, but if it is cancer, they will probably recommend photodynamic therapy (PDT) to remove the "nodule". Has anyone had this procedure and was it successful? Thanks......

RE: PDT

Check out barretts-esophagus.org. Dr. Overholt at that center was one of the early pioneers with PDT in its earliest clinical trials and uses it and other endoscopic procedures to remove some lesions. There's a phone number for Mary Ann at the bottom of the page; they're great to talk to if you have questions.
