Efudex healing time?

I'd like to hear from people what their course of treatment was and how long the healing process was. I'm using Efudex 5% twice daily for 14 days. Friday will be my 12th day and I'm very curious as to how quickly this heals.

Was one week from the end of treatment. Very light flaking now and most of it was removed with a hot was cloth and a little scrubbing. No pain and no lotions other than SPF 45 I feel like I'm ready for another round of EFUDEX just for the fun of it !

Hello, so it has been 3 weeks since your treatment ended. How long did it take to get your skin back? I am on day 14 right now of 5-FU (I think this is the active ingrediant of Efudex) and when I look in the mirror all I see is the worst reddest sunburn in history. From what I see in the mirror, I don't think there is any way I will heal up in a week. If it is only 1 week more, I will be so happy.

update: 11 days after 14 day treatment ended, was a rough week. Red, bright red, peel, pain, bright red, peel, sting, more peel, sting, swell and more swelling, sleepless. Now amazingly good compared to what it was. Flaking only, no pain, some itching pink to red. I think maybe in a few days will have no more flaking.

Thought I'd check in here again. Two months post treatment and my skin feels and looks amazing. It's a bit oiler than it's ever been. Not a bad trade off.I dread my visits to the dermatologist now but I know I must stay on top of things. Could be so much worse. Even though the treatment was nasty...I'd do it again.Good luck everyone. You can do this!!!
