      <description>Where can I find recipes for my dad who just got home after esophageal cancer surgery? He does have a feeding tube... but the doctors say he can eat soft food now.&amp;nbsp; What&amp;#39;s good? what&amp;#39;s bad?Thanks for any suggestionsG&amp;nbsp;</description>

He does have a feeding tube... but the doctors say he can eat soft food now.&amp;nbsp; What&amp;#39;s good? what&amp;#39;s bad?Thanks for any suggestionsG&amp;nbsp;Hello,I have looked everywhere for recipes for my father as well.&amp;nbsp; He had an esophagectomy on Jan. 18th.I made some mashed potatos, mashed carrots, butternut squash and soup for my Dad and he tolerated them well.&amp;nbsp; He also did well with cream of wheat.&amp;nbsp; From other messages I have read, some people have problems with sweets, some spicy ect.&amp;nbsp; Everyone seems different.&amp;nbsp; My father cannot tolerate Ensure or feedings through his j-tube.&amp;nbsp; But now has tolerated small amounts of chicken and I made shepard&amp;#39;s pie and put the meat filling in the food processor and put the potatos on top of that.&amp;nbsp; He tolerated that as well.&amp;nbsp; But I think the is key is SMALL amounts and frequent meals.&amp;nbsp; I have heard that over and over.&amp;nbsp; Also, not to drink with your meal.&amp;nbsp; My Dad has had 1 real bad episode with dumping and the past couple days has had some less severe dumping.&amp;nbsp; It seems to be a trial and error kind of thing unfortunately.&amp;nbsp;I wish you all the best.&amp;nbsp; I hope your Dad does well. This is a difficult recovery but he is lucky to have you help him through it. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Good luck,Laura&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;</description>
