I'm currently being treated with radiation (19 sessions so far with 6 to go) and Chemo on a weekly basis (4 down with up to 12 more sessions). I have not got a progress prognosis as of yet how I'm doing, but I do have a question. My wife is Japanese and has been reading about this product (it's natural) called Fucoidan (under the brand name of Umi No Shizuku), which is very popular in Japan for treating cancer. Their advertisements say that it can be used with radiation and chemo. It's a natural product that is made from certain types of seaweed. It is very expensive. My question that I need answered, is there anyone here in the US that has tried this product and did it help. All the testimonials that were given about this product came from Japan and I would rather hear from some one that has used the product here before buying it. Thank you very much for your time. My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer IIIc in Dec of 2000, was debulked and had 9 months of chemo. She enjoyed about a year without problems but then had a recurrence in late 2002. Another 9 months of chemo followed. Since January of this year she has been taking a liquid-based fucoidan product daily and during that period her markers for the ovca have not only remained in double digits but have dropped slightly and her CT scans have remained clear. I also have a friend who used the same product topically to clear up a basal cell skin cancer from his face in a matter of several weeks. I'd be happy to answer any questions I can. Peace! I still haven't started to use the product, but this certainly makes me want to look into this further. I'm hanging in there. After Chemo (8 sessions) and Radiation (35 sessions), I'm finally done with my current treatments. I had a CT this past Tuesday and next Mon. (11th) I will finally go in to get a progress report. The problem with Tarceva is that they really don't know too much about the after effects when a person is finished taking it. In many cases, Tarceva is given to extend life. When I originally sent out seeking information regarding fucoidon a few months ago (YES I'M STILL KICKING!!!!) my situation being 3A or 3B , having gone into my lympth system, I was trying to find out if anybody had used the product over here in the USA and if they had, what kind of results had they had. Most of the responses that I received were from people trying to SELL me something. I really wanted results first. Since then, my treatments (April thru mid June - '05) of radiation and Chemo helped much for a while, but about 1-1/2 months ago I found out that my lung cancer had spread to my spleen, left kidney and L-4 vertebrae (which is causing the most pain. I then decided to take matters into in my OWN HANDS!!!! I decided to DO THE FUCOIDON THING! But I am buying it from the original source that my Japanese wife talked to me about. It is VERY EXPENSIVE, but I am fortunate there, that we had a little to back us up for this. I have currently used the product for about 4 weeks ago. The only report I have as far as my results are is that my blood levels are A-OK and that after my next chemo session (yes I went back after this new discovery and had 10 sessions of radiation and am currently doing a chemo thing once every 3 weeks), I will be able to have a CT Scan, WHICH I'M VERY ANXIOUS TO FIND OUT, because that will be the first time I will be able to find out the results of what the Fucoidon is doing (I am not talking to my Drs. about the Fucoidon, because they would probably poo-poo it). My energy levels are wonderful. People are remarking how wonderful I look. I'm going to work everyday, and yet last spring, it looked very grim for me. Let's hope the Fucoidon is the answer. I am not sure if it really is safe to use. The FDA caused one company in 2003 to destroy all their product. Do you feel that this product has truly helped you? How much of it did you use? Did you use it during chemo treatment? I am the main caregiver for my husband. He received radiation and had neck disection for head and neck cancer in August and September of 2005. We found out January, 2006 that the cancer had spread to his lungs, liver and bones. Prognosis without treatment is not good. He started chemo treatments in February and had a hard time with the side effects. He is suffering radiation recall. Secretions 24/7. As a result his throat is very sore. It has not had a chance to heal and since he has severe dysphagia (unable to swallow)there is very little we can do to ease his pain. When you say Limu, I really don't know what you are talking about, except that it is suppose to have some Fucoidan in it. This Limu is a different product than what I've been taking. I will not endorse any product. What I am taking is very expensive (it's costing me $50 a day). I buy it out of California (my Japanese wife is the one that steered me to this company and I guess they are the original). I do believe that it has helped me in that my cancer has not spread any further, nor has it really increased (increase has been just the slightest and could be the results of before I started taking the product). They took a blood test last week (3/20), and my blood counts were very good. I have been taking it since early January. So having Lung Cancer, especially diagnosed originally at stage 3A or 3B (at the time they didn't know which to classify, but it was in my lympth nodes), i feel very fortunate to be hear a little more than a year later. I have not told my Drs about the product, only because they will poo-poo it (my experience with having tongue cancer in '99). I am using this product thru chemo and when I was taking radiation. I do know that with your husband being treated in the head & neck area, it is so very hard on him (from the neck up is the worst area to be treated - I lost 70 lbs when I had the toungue cancer and still suffer today as a result of all the treatments). I will remember if I continue treatment to wait 48 hours. I have not spoke with my doctors about this because they will only try and talk me out of it. Or speak against it. I have been taking Limu for the past couple of months. I had heard a few testomonies about it but finally decided to try it myself. I am taking chemo therapy for breast cancer that has spread. Going in for treatment Nov.2005. I was a Stage 4. Life could only be prolonged. I accepted those terms but I changed my eating habits and finally tried the Limu. Today my tumor markers are under 5%. Cancer is gone. My blood work and everything has been very good. Thoughout the treatments I have had the very miminimum of side effects.I have continued to look good (as others tell me) I have been pretty active since. I would recommend drinking Limu to anyone. I began giving it to my 5 year old son who has autistic symptoms. He likes it. I have noticed his allergies are under control and he is not as hyperactive. And his speech is improving. I had a CatScan and the doctors do not see any of the other tumors. But they did find gallstones (haha)I am not taking the chemo taxotere but I am continuing Herceptin. Thank you very much for your time.My brother-in-law has stage 4 lung cancer, 4 tumors in his brain, and possibly in his liver. He has gone completely natural (nothing but fresh fruits and vegi's, fish etc.) and is also taking a juice I bought for him called Limu, "which is suppose to have the highest level of fucoidan" Now he did have one session of radiation and he also has been doing the Budwig protocall ( I will apologize for the spelling) that  protocall is the Flaxseed oil and cottage cheese mixed together. Right now his brain tumors have shrunk 80% on one 50% on the other big one and the two little ones in the middle, they can't see anymore. The Lung cancer has not done anything, the good thing is that it hasn't increased or spread.The woman I got the Limu juice from has a friend who I listened to had pancreatic, bladder, and breast cancer she had both her breasts removed but had NO chemo or radiation, she is 81 years old. She could not lift her left arm above shoulder level because of pain in her breast removed area and under her left arm. It has not had a chance to heal and since he has severe dysphagia (unable to swallow)there is very little we can do to ease his pain.Yes,  Dear;  you  know  doubt  heard  right  about  the  FDA....They  are  trying  to  shut  (any  and  all  the  natural  and  homopathic  healing  methods)  down.     They  get  paid off by  the  pharmacutical  companies  to  shut  them  down...because  if  you or  I  find  something  better  than  their  prescribed  drugs to  take  and it  works  for  our  illnesses ....then  that  will get  into  the big  thugs  poctet.....They  won't have  that  so they  pay  the FDA  to  shut  down  some of  them  and  then  sent  a messages  that  it  was  causing  more  harm  than good......Well...I'm  here  to  tell you  all that  God  created  this  world  before  the Federal  Gov.,  Pharmacuticals,  FDA  and  any  other  organization  was  hear....and  God  created  a  natural  pharmacy  when  he  created  this  world ..knowing  exactly  what  we  would  need....So,  my  message  to you and  anyone  who wants  to listen.....if  you  find  a  God  given  natural  product....then  most  likely  you will get  more  good  out  of  it  than  the  prescribed  drugs....and  with the  natural  and homopathic  there  won't  be not  side  affects....and  other  organs  being  damaged  from  the  Gods  Almighty  Pharmacy....I  always  do  better  on the  natural  stuff than  prescribed  drugs...I  find  what  I  need  and  take  it...I  think that is  my  choice .... to  choose  what  and how  I  want  to heal  my  body...GOOD  LUCK  TO  ALL OF  YOU.....i  STOOD  BY  AND  WATCH  MY  DAD  DIE  WITH  CA....HE  WOULD  NOT  EVEN  GO  TO THE  DOCTORS....HE  SAID  THEY  WOULD KILL YOU  FASTER  THAN  THE  DIEASE....
