I just wondered if you are finding sutent effective after 19 cycles. My husband's doctors advise that it is rare to go beyond 18 cycles with effective results. After 14 cycles my husband is still active, puttering in the garden and traveling. Thank you.Sharencec

Hi:I have just started my 31st course of sutent.Obviously it has worked for me.I take 37,5 mg.and the 3 tumors I have are all considerably smaller than when I started. The most dangerous one in the lung cannot be seen right now. I and the Drs. don't know how long this can go on. Meanwhile I have a decent quality of life, raise alot of money for cancer research and will not let this insidious disease beat me.If you want or need more information letme know. Good Luck!!!!!!

Hi:All I can tell you is the experiences i have had ,how I reacted and what has happened since I have made some critical decisions.I took 50 mg for about 4 courses and with agreement with my Drs. and Nurses, it was determined that I would have great difficulty tolerating 50 mg, so my dosage was changed to 37'5 about 2.5 yearsago. So first, I'm still doing well on a lower dosage. Second, the side effects can be rough especially inthe late stages of the course. Fatigue, diaherrea, sore mouth feetand thyroid problem that had to be corrected and was. While I wouldn't be honest with you if I said there wasn't discomfort,I have not spent one day in bed and am able bto function although with more diffificulty towards the end of the course.I know little about immuology and thus can't respond to that. But 3and a half years on sutent, lower dosage===at least i am here to tell you how I feel. Let me know how and what you are doing..

Hi Sutent survivors,It is great to read about you going on your 19th or 30+ th cycles with Sutent. My mom has RCC with mets to the bones all over. She is currently taking 50mg Sutent and is now on her 3rd week of her 1st cycle. The 3rd week blood test results show a sudden plunge in blood platelets from 250 to 83, this is very worrying. And platelets are still dropping. Did you experience this? Do you know if she shd get off Sutent or continue at a lower dosage?Thank you.
