My husband had his surgery on the 24 of Jan. He has a hard time eating complains of pain in bowels area after eating. Keeping anything down is good. Are these normal gunder Sun, 17 Feb 2008 00:00:00 GMT My father had his operation in October 2007.  Yes, he complained about bowel pain.  Sometimes were worse then others.  He was going through chemo & radiation which made him even more sick.  He has been done the first round of treatment for 2 weeks now.  Things are a little better.  He still has pain and has to watch what he eats.  It does get better. Need2Know Mon, 18 Feb 2008 00:00:00 GMT Absolutely normal.  I had abdominal cramps, diahrea, didn't want anything to eat. I wanted to eat nothing, but finally came to the realization if I didn't eat, I wouldn't live.  So I forced myself to eat two bites per hour.  I only wanted cold food in the beginning, but after four years I am back to normal.  This is a very slow process, so be patient and don't take giant steps.  You will learn which foods upset your stomach, but after my surgery each time I ate I would have horrible cramps.  Keep us posted.
