CancerCompass message board discussion started by Johndp on 2/18/2008 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,21066,0.htm Fri, 05 Dec 2008 00:00:00 GMT Fri, 05 Dec 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ My Father is 73 years old with Hormone Refractory Prostate Cancer.  He had prostate romoved 20 years ago with a gleason score of 5.  He had a orchiectomy 15 year ago and started on a second round of Hormone Therapy three years ago.  His PSA has been under 4 but has started creeping up last year.  It was 13 three months ago and this past week was 19.  His Dr told him to stop his Hormone therapy (NILUTAMIDE) to try and get a hormone withdrawl.  He had a MRI last week and it came back negative.  He is scheduled for a Bone scan in the next three months.  Does any one have any info on Prostasol ?  I thought he should try it if there is some chance it could work in bringing his PSA back down.  Any other sugestions ?  We live in San Antonio and could travel to MD Anderson if there is a posibility they could help him.  ThanksJohn P          Johndp Mon, 18 Feb 2008 00:00:00 GMT Change of medication can often assist, as one kind will be more effective than another. Some men also say they obtain good results with  prostasol.It's worth reading Dr Myers book on the subject.
