Intrahepatic Chlangiocarcinoma

I am a 45 yr.old mom of 5 who served in the Army 1977-1980. I was diagnosed 3 yrs ago with this type of cancer. Based on my research I feel as though there is a connection between being stationed in Okinawa and this type of cancer. I am needing any info from other veterans in relation to this.
Thanks,
Jeanie D.

Jeanie, I believe your right in seeing the connection between Cholangiocarcinoma and being stationed Okinowa. My husband was diagnosed 34 yrs. after returning from Vietnam. What kind of work did you do while there? Janice

Thanks, Jeanie D.Jeanie, I don't know about the connection in okinawa, but if you would be so kind as to give me an update on your cancer. My mom has this same cancer & they can not operate because the tumor is covering her arteries. So they are doing chemo-Gemzar & Radiation. Please give any info you might have on this terrible cancer. I will also be praying for you Donna

Hi there! It has been 6 years since I was diagnosed and I have had a resection and 3 Radio Frequency Ablations. I also had a complete Hysterectomy in Dec. I am doing good and enjoying each and everyday that God is giving me. I feel great and the doctors are telling me that the 2 small spots are not growing at this point. I am a patient at Mayo and also Vanderbilt. I pray daily and ask God for peace and comfort. It can be scary but, I believe that all things work together for good and I am using this experience to encourage and help others.I believe God, Great Doctors, A Supportive Family and a Fantastic Attitude are the keys to life! :) God Bless you,Jeanie
