Why eat?

Have had 5 bouts of blocked/infected bile duct stents in the past year. At the point of wondering what is the use of eating? All it causes is more trouble. If I switched to a nutritional liquid diet, would that stop the infections & blockages????

This is a tough one. What does the doctor attribute it to. You could try a liquid diet and a very healthy one. No sugar, very little milk, juice vegetables daily examples: Carrot, celery, apple. Plain carrot. Apple and 2 beets twice weekly. Greens and carrot. Make a beef stew and add lots of vegetables take the broth from that and add tumuric or mild curry and heavy whipping cream. Then you can blend the ingredients of stew and eat as a thick soup. I just made a delicious carrot soup. try that for 30 days. You could make a baked egg custard using heavy whipping cream, add a little water, and use small amounts of honey for sweetening. Heavy whipping cream is better digested than other milk products. Use boiled eggs. Weekly you could try a fuit smoothie with cream but no more than once, The sugar, though natural feeds cancer. Try for 30 days and see if that helps. I wish you the best. Add cod liver oil liquid to diet there is a lemon flavored one and"I add about 3 ounces of healthy lemonade, CoQ10 and epicor made from Sacchromyces Cereviisiae as its ingredient that boost the immune system, all the best mmsOn 2/19/2008 8MJM8 wrote: Have had 5 bouts of blocked/infected bile duct stents in the past year. At the point of wondering what is the use of eating? All it causes is more trouble. If I switched to a nutritional liquid diet, would that stop the infections & blockages????

I do have strong opinions about stents verses catheter's...but would need to know more about your situation.Thank...Leonard from Alamo California

My doctor said even on liquid nutrition the stents would still get infected. So there is no point in not eating solid foods. Yes, I'm getting frustrated with the whole thing. This last scope (5th) was very barbaric as the nurse couldn't get my IV to work so she could give me something for anesthetic. The doctor went ahead & pushed all the tubing down my throat anyways. I was kicking & flailing my arms so they would know that I was still very much awake. Still the doctor kept on pushing the thing down my throat with me gagging & crying the whole time. There is no cure for bile duct cancer with metastes to the liver & pancreas. I would just like this all to come to an end so I can be at peace with Jesus in my glorified body!

I do know about bile not being able to pass through the bile ducts and/or the inserted stents and getting backed up into the liver and causing a high fever with chilles and infection. I don't know about stents getting infected. If thats the cast you may want them to insert an external catheter that can be flushed and drained daily. I read your entire message and needed to take a extra day to respond. I really feel for you for having to go through what you did. Just for my own information...was the last scope inserted to force feed you or to do another examine? It really doesn't matter which it is...it sounds like they didn't give much thought about you and how you were taking the procedure. Something very similar happen to my wife...they were inserting a catheter into her liver and she was not fully out...she blinked her eyes rapidly tried to move him hands but couldn't (they were strapped down) and the damn doctor was BS's with the nurse and kept pushing the catheter in deeper and deeper. I was also barbaric, I looked for that SOB and found him in the hospital dinning room and gave him a very strong piece of my mind and also instructed the hospital director that Doctor X will not come within 10 feet of my wife and he never did.Hey MJM, you're right about bile duct cancer when it spreads, in fact you're also right about your how you want all this to end...it's your life and it is very apparent your quality of life is not moving in a positive direction.Take care, you are in my thoughts. Sorry for the delay in responding, I just didn't know what direction I wanted to go in.Stay strong and don't let them get the best of you...Leonard
