To Paulinegld re biopsy

I read your post from a few weeks ago regarding having biopsies that did not produce cancerous cells. This also happened to me. I had two biopsies. One by EUS and one by FNB/CT - after seven passes they did find something they identified as cancer/adenocarcinoma. It was always a questions in my mind. Anyway, there were treating me as if it was cancer and needed the cells to decide which chemo to put me on. It is not uncommon to not be able to reach the cells, so with pancreatic cancer it is best to be aggressive and that is what it sounds like your doctors are being. Good luck, sounds like they got yours early!Kikivero

Hi, thanks for your response. I am still Stage I, had a follow up CT scan after radiation and chemo. Went to see the surgeons on Tuesday of this week. My tumour markers are normal. They are still concerned about the proximity to the portal vein and I will have exploratory surgery next Thursday.I am feeling brilliant, have put back on 3Kg and in my self feel the best I have felt in many months.Anyone who reads this, please read "The Secret". It took me a while to get my head around it, but I have now such a feeling of well being and my intention is to be writing on this forum for a long, long time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,Just an update. Had another laparoscopy last Wednesday and am now scheduled for my Whipple's this coming Thursday 20th March. At laparoscopy they went in and around the portal vein to make sure it was clear and it appears the radiation has shrunk the tumour away from the vein which is excellent news.I am very excited and positive about next Thursday. Thanks to this forum I am going in armed with a wealth of information and knowledge. I will keep you posted once I am home. Thanks for your response
