Hydrocele and Hernia -- and Test Canc

Hello all, First of all I am new to this message board. I found a lump on my testicle two days ago and since then many questions have come up. My father is a survivor of testicular cancer so it is in my family. My question is this: As a child I had a hydrocele and a hernia. I was wondering if there are any studies done on any link between hydrocele/hernia and testicular cancer. Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction. I am going to see a urologist in a week. Whats the exam like? I read something about illuminating the scrotum, but what else is involved. Thank You,J p.s. to all those people suffering, you have many people like you, who love you, and are with you. STAY STRONG!
