RE: soft tissue sarcoma

i had radiation twice a day for six weeks with my first cancer then two weeks later i had surgery and that was it. Then a year later I found out it was in my lungs. I started with Adriamicyne and that worked well but after i had my lifetime doseage and stopped it the cancer came back. After that I had Ifosfamide and Mesna and I had an allergic reaction to it twice. Then I had Doxorubicin, Taxotere, DTIC, and Gemzar. All of them worked well for a while then it stopped working. So after awhile I tried a procedure called PhotoDynamic Therapy that is amazing (only 4 places in the US do it though) and they were able to get 80% of the cancer but it really should have been followed by some chemo to kill the rest cause after the treatment again the cancer came back. I have also done Radiation to my chest when I was having major pain and it helpped alot.I am currently on Sutant and it seems to be working well. The doctors are really excited about the way I have been feeling and lack of symptoms I am having and my lungs sound better than they have in years. I will find out in a month when I have my scans again. And the Sutant is great cause it is a pill I just take at home every day 28 days on and 14 days off.I wish both of you luck and let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.

I was diagnosed in 2000 with a neurosacral sarcoma(soft tissue), I was given no hope...the mass was (of course in my sacrum) was on top of a nerve sjeath(covering) and also around the base of my spine and as you know nerves do not need to be cut, , so surgery was not an option as it would cause me not to be able not walk....the dr had to call around the country because no one wanted to touch it...finally at UAB Birmingham, Alabama, dr took my case only to tell me ......no hope.....they said the only thing that they would try was some really strong radiation....lots of prayer.....I was supposed to be bleeding, was supposed to spread to my lungs and brain....after those 36 treatments and lots of prayer.....its been 8 years......I believe that I am a living miracle........
