Looking for some info from Avastin users

Hi All,I am being treated as an ovarian cancer patient. I have fallopian cancer. I have been on several different chemo's over the past 6 years. I am doing well although for the last year there have been no treatments that shrink my tumor. It hasn't grown at all though. My question is that I am now on Avastin which is a trial treatment with ovarian cancer. I would love to hear from anyone who has been treated with Avastin for any type of cancer as I have a few questions about so side effects which I have read and been told are normal but are a bit scarey. If there is anyone out there that know anything about Avastin please let me know! Thanks so much!Judy

The side effects of Avastin can be quite serious. My wife completed two cycles of treatment using Avastin and taxol. It was not efective, her CA125 went up. She also has used 5 different chemo drugs without success. Not sure where we go from here, I guess clinical trials is our only option

I was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer on Nov.1, 2007. I had a complete hysterectomy and debulking. I started chemo the day after Christmas. On my 2nd round I also started the clinical trial with Avastin. I'm not supposed to know if I am recieving it or a placebo, but am sure I have got the Avastin. One of the side effects is runny/stuffy nose and possible nose bleeds. I had a nose bleed last week. Fortunately I have had no bad side effects from it. I will be on the trial for many more months. My latest CT scan showed there is still a 1cm spot on liver. Keeping as positive as I can. I wanted to look into a message board so that I can start talking to others who understand. My family loves and supports me, but they do not want to talk about it. Hope I have been some help. Dorothy

You know, when you get down to it, if you ready the warnings on any of these chemo's they'll scare the pants off of you but they have to print them even if it's a very small percentage of population that experienced themGood luck and LifeStrong,Lisa
