When you said that the tumour was not dead was that with regular chemo treatment? has the RFA managed to 'exterminate' the tumour? how did you have it done and have you had any side effects? how long since you had it done? and did you have a scan afterwards to show that it had got rid of the tumour? sorry for so many questions but I am back on chemo and feel I would much rather have the RFA as its less damaging to all the other tissues. Also do you have tumours anywhere else other than the liver? what chemo did you have before they decided on RFA?So pleased to hear you are doing well.Kindest regardsLinOn 3/6/2008 pray4healing wrote:I have ovarian cancer stage 3 with metz. to the liver.  It took 18 months but the tumor is not dead.  The radiofrequency ablation is what finally did the trick.  I'm now back in remission.  Angel of Hope Mon, 10 Mar 2008 00:00:00 GMT Yes, the pet-scan showed that the tumor was not dead after chemo.  But, I had to stop the chemo after only 3 doses (carbo/taxol--same as before) due to an allergic reaction to the carbo.  The RFA did kill the remaining cancer cells.  I had RFA in Nov. 2007 and a pet-scan in Dec 2007 which showed no active cancer cells.  The procedure was done under conscious sedation and I was pretty sore for about a month.  My only side effect was from my lung rubbing against the now dead tumor.  It really hurt to take a deep breath, this lasted for around 3 months.  I had a pet-scan one month after RFA which showed that the cancer was dead.  This one tumor was the only area of metastasize since the orginal cancer Dec. 2004.  I hope this is helpful.  God Bless  ShirleyOn 3/10/2008 Angel of Hope wrote:Just read your message re radiofrequency ablation.
