surgery

Hello, I have neuroendocrine carcenoids. They have done extreme damage to my heart valves. I have had several doctors tell me that if I do not have them replaced, I will not live a year. I have scheduled surgery in about 2 weeks. Is there anyone who has experience with this issue? Can you tell me about surgery cautions--things that happen during heart valve replacement because of the carcenoids, etc. ?I was diagnosed about 18 months ago and have done well so far using the sandostatin shots and a lot of herbal supplements. Thank you for any information you can share with me.
