CancerCompass message board discussion started by tanyaec on 3/4/2008 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,21631,0.htm Sat, 05 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT Sat, 05 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ This is day 17 applying Efudex 2x day and i'm beginning to think my Dr. misdiagnosed me dispite the two BCC i've had removed.  I still have no reaction.  The spots on my legs are doing nothing?  I have a couple of "pink" spots that have come up on my arms and legs but nothing more?  I'm only supposed to do this for 21 days.  I would have thought I would have more reaction.  I am wondering if these spots could be something else?Tanya tanyaec Tue, 04 Mar 2008 00:00:00 GMT Tanya, 17 days is allot of 5-FU, but many don't see real "erosion" until into the third week or day 21 plus, so you will know in 5 days or so.  I did 6 weeks of tretinoin (Retin-A) as advised by my doc, so top layers of skin already cleared up when started the flourouricil.  For me on day 21 all hell broke loose and eruptions, burning, oozing - you name it - began. Up until then just red areas and some stinging, so came on quickly when cells started dying off. You may not have the same, but again you need to go another week or so.  Just call you doc or their nurse for a consult over the phone. Most treatments on arms and legs are for four weeks/28 days.Good luck!
