I've just been diagnosed

Hello, I'm new to this board and am looking for support. 3 months ago I was diagnosed with severe squamus cell dysplasia and had a second biopsy last week and this time it is non small cell carcinoma.I haven't seen an oncologist yet. I still don't even know what stage I'm in or anything. I'm pretty rattled but not as much as most I'd say, as I also have Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, which is under control right now and Scleroderma which is in remission. So the diagnosis of yet a 3rd terminal disease didn't rock me as much as it could have. I can't do chemo due to my enlarged right heart and the PAH, radiation doesn't seem an alternative either due to the lung damage from the Scleroderma.I've been looking in to natural treatments or clinicals that lean that way and just haven't found anything yet. I just wanted to drop in to say hi and get to know you all.

RE: I've just been diagnosed

Hi Patty,I am not going to be much help as I too have Squamous Cell Carcinoma (Non-Small Cell) of the Lung. I was diagnosed in November of 2007. I have had quite a good response with Chemo. I actually had metastisis to the brain that was successfully treated with cyberknife. I just finished 6 cycles of Chemo. The first 3 were Cisplatin and Gemzar. The last 3 were Carboplatin and Gemzar. My most recent PET showed significant reduction and in some cases tumors are gone (I was originally diagnosed at Stage IV) so, now I'm at a cross road. Dr. is recommending radiation so I meet with the radiation oncologist next Wednesday. Seems to be about 5 small spots left so, am always open to suggestions. Looking at getting a second opinion as well. Have made some calls so, now just waiting to hear back.I pray you are doing well and that you have a quick and speedy recovery. I'll be praying for you..Blessings

Hi Lisa, wow you've really been through it. I haven't even seen an Oncologist yet. I know it is because I'm carrying around the other 2 diseases....at least I think that is why. I've started treating myself at this point. Someone has to do something so I'm doing it. I'm juicing massive amounts of beta carotenes, using herbal supplements that are known cancer fighters. I'm treating any pain or depression, inability to sleep etc etc with medical marijuana. I've been applying THC tincture poultices to the biopsy area and something is definately happening there. Its all just a coin toss at this point. I'm angry at the system and for not caring. I have no insurance, never could afford it. So I'm pretty much left out here to do my own thing. Thanks for your response and you are in my Prayers girl.Patti

Hi Patti...I know one thing I hear over and over.. Diet and attitude.. Positive thinking and eating a healthy diet. Even the people I work with in India constantly press upon me to make sure I'm eating healthy. So.. I think you are definately doing the right things.Keep me up to date on how you are doing.. and keep pressing forward. Never forget that God is the great Healer and he will never leave you or forsake you :0).... Be blessed.. and keep looking up ! Lisa

I agree with you on the nutrition level. I must admit I'm not sure what is going on where I'm applying the poultice. It is drawing something out of my body. I clean and reapply twice a day. I'm hoping to see an oncologist soon so they can advise me, but I feel as if I must do something and this was suggested be my Shaman. I'll keep you informed. Good luck to you and I hope your health continues to improve. I am reading Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth and it is also helping my conciousness. I'm so happy that you replied to me. It seems when people see that I'm self medicating they think I'm a flake and don't offer love.Peace

Smile!I got the plan now girl! The PET, CAT and MRI all came in with no cancer anywhere other than the tumor.....how lucky is that?? So due to the other two illnesses he's not doing surgery or chemo but feels it is stage 1B and can be zapped in 10 radiation treatments. So thats happening starting next week. How are you doing?
