What is The Next Step For Me?

I JUST FOUND out today that the lesion the pulmonologist was worried about lit up on the Pet Scan I had last week. He was on vacation and called me.
I have an appointment now with a chest surgeon next Monday. What happens now? Is this the time a biopsy is done to see if it is cancer and what type it is?
What I mean is, you just don't go get it taken out before they biopsy it first, if they can I guess, do you?
thank you everyone

I know this is so scary. They do not remove your entire lung, just the lobe where the tumor is. Usually you have the biopsy before the PET scan. The biopsy confirms the cancer and the PET scan shows where the cancer is. God Bless you.
