abnormal ultrasound

Hi I am hoping someone can give me some information. A few weeks ago I had a bone scan for leg pain I have been having for about 18 months when it began I had a ct and mri of my abdomin and legs back and neck , nothing was discovered then the bone scan showed a full kidney. My doctor said he was not to worried though there is a family history of polycystic disease. anyway he ordered the ultrasound to rule it out he called yesterday with the news there is a solid mass in my left kidney. and now need a ct that I have to drink something can not remember the name. He said if this is abnormal then I have to go to urologist. he mentioned he was thinking tumor proably kidney cancer but did not want me to get scared. should I be scared? the new test is tuesday when should I expect results and if I go to urologist what do I need to know about this and what are the chances this is cancer and not just some abnormality that is the way I am no problem just different?
