My mom's bloodwork and symptoms (?)

Hello, I posted a message a few days ago about my mom's symptoms. She has since had bloodwork completed and they found that her blood sugar is slightly high. Is this a sign of pancreatic cancer? She does not have diabetes. Her other symptoms are:-no appetite, food adversion-diarrhea-nausea-back pain -stomach pain-weight loss (about 7 lbs. in 3 weeks) Thank you for your help.Michelle

Did they do a CA19-9 test on her blood? Any elevation inthat number MIGHT be a red flag. Maybe she didn't have diabetes before but she is getting it now? Maybe she has pancreatitis? Is she jaundiced at all? Try to stay calm and hear what the doctor has to say. Push for more tests like a CAT scan, ultrasound or ERCP if you can't get definitive answers. Best of luck to you both.

PC can be hard to diagnose. The symptoms you describe coule be PC, but they could be other things as well. The high BS is not generally a sign of PC. Jaundice is common if the tumor is in the head and back pain is common if its in the tail. You really need a CT, MRI or ERCP to be sure.
