CancerCompass message board discussion started by flkelley on 3/12/2008 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,21918,0.htm Thu, 04 Dec 2008 00:00:00 GMT Thu, 04 Dec 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ Hello everyone, It seems like many of  the success stories have had their kidney's removed with RCC.  My dad has Stage IV RCC with mets to his spine only.  The Oncologist did not recommend surgery since his kidney was still functioning properly.  The mass is about 2cm on the left side.  He has been on Toricel for almost three weeks and we have our first appointment since the start of his treatment on Friday to find out if it has had any success.  I am just curious if anyone has had success with Toricel without surgery or should we press our doctor for more options?Thanks so much for listening.  Everyone has already given us so much hope then we ever would have expected!     flkelley Wed, 12 Mar 2008 00:00:00 GMT These new (since Dec of 06) medications are terrific. I have been reading a lot about Toricel & it is supposed to be a great med. Would like to know how you make out with your evaluation.The wonderful thing with the new meds is they go after all known & unknown tumors. Whereas surgery only goes after a particular known tumor.I am stage 4 with multiple sites and have been on Nexavar since 6-07.  After an initial reduction in size, I have been stable since.  (no new tumors, no growth) Bill Wilhelm Tue, 18 Mar 2008 00:00:00 GMT
