Some good news to share....

Hello all, Just thought I'd share some good news for a change. My dad is feeling better and has been able to stay out of the hospital for the past two weeks. He's eating well with no regurge. In addition he just had his 6th round of chemo and will have one more at the end of March and then the Dr. plans to do a CT scan to see if my dad is ready for surgery. As I mentioned in a previous message, my dad was not able to keep the food down two weeks ago and that is why he was in the hosp and we were really scared that maybe the tumor in the stomach had grown or the cancer was spreading to the esophagus. My dad was even telling me where he wanted to be buried on the day he was going for the endoscopy. Needless to say, the Dr. told my dad that when he went in he could not believe how much the tumor in his stomach had shrunk!!!!! They since then doubled up my dad's Nexium and Reglan and since then he's been doing better. My dad says that he's going to beat this and he will not take this lying down. He even is walking on the treadmill at the gym on his good days. He's truly a fighter and very brave too and I have so much respect for his courageousness and God willing he'll get through this. I share this story with you on this website because I think that we all need to hear some good news once in awhile about this horrible disease. I hope and pray that you and your families are also hanging in there and don't lose the hope because when you least expect it, it can turn around......Lila.

Lila,What wonderful news. Thank you so much for sharing it. We all need a boost from time to time. I agree with your dad. He is stronger than his cancer. He is a miracle. Except the diagnosis, but not the prognosis. Bravo to you and your family. I know that you have played a huge roll in your father's success. He is blessed to have you. We all are!Take good care,Marlene
