I am 44 years old with two children and 4 grandchildren.October of 2006 I was told I have stage 4 cervical cancer. A rare form not picked up on a pap smear. I went thru all the treatments, chemo, internal and external radiation. Suffered thru it all. December 2007 I had a blockage in my colon which there the monster was hiding again.I have been told 9 months to live without chemo/ 12-24 months with chemo. I am now in treatment with Cisplatin ( Again) and Topatecan (sp?)Please if anyone is going thru this or has please talk with me. I need support.

You have to keep the faith, be strong. My Mom has has stage 4b and did cisplatin and topotecan, was okay for awhile, and then as you say the monster came back. Her doc then switched her to taxol to shrink the monster and may then do surgery coupled with radiation. My Mom is a fighter, and you should be too. Take care.

I am sorry to hear about your cancer coming back. My mom has stage 4 also. 6 mn w/ treatment 9 mns w/o. She did one round of treatment and called it quits. I am not really sure why. She is only 55. I searched and searched info on this. One thing sounding promising is a clinical study pazopanib. It is in Canada. I dont know where your from but it is there. You sound like you want to put up a fight and thats great. Look into everything. I do know there is not much research on advanced cervical cancer. But dont let that get you down. Stage 4 is usually not curable but it can go into remission. I dont know how much you know about cancer. But dont feed that bastard sugar!! I have info but I need to know what exactly your looking for. You can write me back I may be of help. I'm actually putting up a fight with my Governor in Illinois for an act he said giving all uninsured women in illinois free treatment for breast and cervical cancer. I have done my research. If you need anything please feel free to ask. I will pray that God guides you in the right direction. Dont give up hope.Dani

After her surgery he said "I'm sorry, it's in your lungs". She is doing well and taking lots of vitamins and herbs. Do you take any? I hear it's giving amazing results. I am 33 years old. I was diagnosed with carcinoma in situ a year ago. Severe cervical dysplasia. I had a LEEP and the margins were not clear. My husband lost his job and I lost my insurance. My "condition" was pre-existing until February. The new doctor said I was fine, come back in a year. I found out later he never even got my medical records from my old doctor! Now he will see me in two weeks. I am afraid now though because I have a lot of watery blood, mild pain. In one area by my urethera I have very painful sores. My vaginal walls look like brains! It's not right. I had complained about it to my last doctor and he didn;t really look at it. He just said it's normal for women to have folds... But I wasn't like that my whole life. It's changing fast. Now a year later it's all over. I can see it. I am going to demand a biopsy. I've been having low back pain. We even got a new tempropedic bed, and it doesn't help. I also have a lump in my vagina that feels like the size of a finger. I was told by the doctor it's probably a collapsed muscle from child birth. But I never had it before and my youngest is nine. I'm not ready to die, and I'm afraid if I don'y get properly treated soon it will be too late. Cindy, how are you coping? Are you accepting this and just trying to prolong your life as much as possible? I would like to talk to you and keep each other updated. I think it helps to talk to someone who's dealing with this. This new doctor told me I shouldn;t get a hysterectomy because I was too young. But the oncologist said I should get one. I have no problem getting that done if it will make me better. I have two beautiful children and three awesome step-children. We have a full house. Did you have any symptoms like me?
