sarcoma metastesised to lungs doctor wants to wait

lyomyosarcoma has spread to the lungs, suppose to be high grade, doctor wants to wait 6 weeks to do more tests and see how fast cancer is growing. what if the nodules in both lungs when tested last were very recent? How fast can these nodules grow in 6 weeks? Our surgical oncoligist said that we shouldn't wait to start treatment. hubby, thanks

hi, i'm not an expert, but i'd get a second opinion anyways. my dad's sarcoma was really big so he didn't have that much time to wait and see how fast it would grow. maybe ask your surgical oncologist for other doctors he/she recommends. and if you go to a sarcoma center, that would probably be best.

Hello - my husband has peripheral nerve sheath sarcoma and we have been fighting for 3 years. Sarcomas are very sneaky cancers and in our situation, 6 weeks is the equivalent to a lifetime. I highly recommend you get a second opinion, preferably at a sarcoma center and choose to take control of your fight. There are 8 primary sarcoma centers in the US. We go to Houston Texas to MD Anderson and we have been very pleased with our care and the level at concern they give to our disease. I will pray for you and if I can help, please let me know. Good Luck!

If you have high grade, you should not wait that long. Get a second opinion at a sarcoma center. I have had 2 bilateral lung surgeries. I had to wait 6 weeks to have my surgery because I was still healing from another surgery. Find a sarcoma center near you:http://www.protopage.com/sarcoma#Sarcoma_Post-It®_Links/ " target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.protopage.com/sarcoma#Sarcoma_Post-It®_Links/ http://www.protopage.com/sarcoma#Sarcoma_Post-It®_Links/ " target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.protopage.com/sarcoma#Sarcoma_Post-It®_Links/ Good luck, if that doesn't work, try to find a clinical trial
