Looking for information

Hi everyone Does anyone know of a chemotherapy that has side effects in the form of rashes and possible sores on the skin area? Obviously this is the prevelant side effect of this certain chemo. I would appreciate an answer if anyone knows or may have had a similar chemo and side effect. I know its not carboplatin or cisplatin, or Flouricil. Thanks so much Denise1156

Yes. I was put on Erbitux which the main side effects were acne like rash on the face, chest and back.I had to miss the 3rd week of chemo as it just covered my entire face, it was a severe red rash, with pimple like sores all over, some looked pussed up and blead. They were painful also. The Oncologist gave me cortisone cream I used daily. I had 7 weeks of this therapy. Hope this helps you if that is what you were looking for.God Bless & Good LuckPatricia

it sounds like erbitux. the rash can be very intense and takes quite a few weeks to go away after treatment is done. the doctors actually told my BF that the rash is a good thing...means you are responding well to the treatment. they suggested that he use head and shoulder dandruff shampoo as a body wash when the rash was bad. it did seem to help. he also skipped a week of treatment because the rash was so bad.
