chronic cervicitis

Last November when I got my LEEP results back, I noticed also on the results it said "chronic cerivicitis." I have never had a chlamydia or gonorhea infection but did test positive for high-risk HPV before. I have had lower back pain on and off for about 3 years and I've always had a little discharge that stains my panites, but it's always been normal for me. Do you think this is related? And my doctor never said anything about the cerivicits. Do you think the LEEP took care of this too when he removed the lesion?

RE: chronic cervicitis

My results said chronic cervicitis, too. The dysplasia was strictly on the right side, and was basically mild with one focal point at the edge of the transformation zone that was CIN II. Cervicitis can be caused by a lot of factors and not all of the are caused by STD's. If it's severe and persistent, it's often removed with cryosurgery or laser. Here are some links, although your doctor should have discussed it with you. The doctor I fired should have discussed it with me, too. I didn't even know I had it until I saw the lab results with the new doctor. Hopefully, the LEEP got rid of it. I had a LEEP to remove the dysplasia, but LEEP was the wrong procedure for me. An inflammed cervix + a device with a high risk of infection + a body that heals slowly and is vulnerable to infection = complications. With the kind of dysplasia I had, laser would have been a better option. I'm still angry about that LEEP.http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:KoJlu9Me00cJ:www.healthsquare.com/fgwh/wh1ch05.htm+chronic+cervicitis&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=ushttp://screening.iarc.fr/colpochap.php?lang=1&chap=9.php http://www.rxmed.com/b.main/b1.illness/b1.1.illnesses/cervic http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070603071526AA http://www.wdxcyber.com/m2cervix.htm

Thank you hereandnow for your response. I also didn't know anything about the chronic cervicitis until I read my lab report. I assume (hope) the LEEP removed and the infected area. I should get my first PAP follow-up after the LEEP next week. Good luck to you.

I definitely will keep my fingers crossed that your follow-up PAP smear will be good.I also appreciate your good thoughts for me. It's been 5-1/2 months, now, and I still can't sit without pain killers and a cushion seat. It's been very discouraging.
