rectal cancer

I was dia. with rectal cancer June 2006, adrenal rectal cancer a fast growing cancer.I also was in need of a mesanairy artery by pass, before the artery problem was found they said I was going to die. I found a cardeo dr. that was willing to try the by pass. So in aug 2006 I had the pypass then sept 11 06 I had my rectum removed and a none replacable bag put on.To is march 08 and I'm still recovering, is this a slow recovery? I'm so very very tired and I have tons of pain. Pelvic bone, back, cramping when I eat and tons of low stomic pain, very short of breath, my quality of life is no life, maybe one day a week I can get out or do a little house work and then it takes a week to recooperate. Is this normal? If not what could the problem be? I'm on pain meds but my pain level is 7 + still I don't want to ask for more pain meds, I don't want to get addicted and I'm afraid one day when or I get worse there will be nothing left to help with the pain. I suffer alott, I could beat my head on the wall What is others oppinion on this issue? I wish I could just het back to feeling good and enjoying life one day at a time that every one advise's me to do. Help!Thank you
