Hard lump in cheek

Hello, I am worried about my mother who had a hard lump in her cheek or gumline. The dentist told her it is near a lymph node and to keep watching it. She has Chronic Lymphoceatic Cancer and has been a smoker forever. She's not too concerned and plans to talk to her oncologist, but Im wondering has anyone here had that? It feels alot like the tumor I found on my breast last year too... like a marble.
