      <title>IMRT for Head and Neck Area</title>
      <description>Can anyone tell me the side effects of this type of radiation (IMRT)&amp;nbsp;to the neck/throat area.&amp;nbsp; The radiation oncologist is talking about eight weeks of five days a week.&amp;nbsp; Any infor will be helpful.&amp;nbsp; Thanks.</description>

Please don&amp;#39;t let the side effects scare you away from treatment. And again just keep reading the message board and post if you need help.&amp;nbsp;</description>

Had 2 rounds of Cisplaten and 3 weeks on 5 F/U Chemo. Radiation has affected my Thyroid Gland and wiped out my saliva glands. Now I have carry a drink with me all the time.&amp;nbsp; Good Luck to you&amp;nbsp;</description>

Now I have carry a drink with me all the time.&amp;nbsp; Good Luck to you&amp;nbsp;have you had any problems with your shoulder joints from having radiation to the throat area?&amp;nbsp; My husband had cisplaten and also 8 weeks of radiation to the throat with squamash cell cancer.&amp;nbsp; He not has horrible pain in his shoulder and can&amp;#39;t lift his left arm..same side the cancer was on in his throat.&amp;nbsp; It was in his lymph node but they said it was confined to this throat. How do they really know this?&amp;nbsp; Do most cancers come back? He still can not swallow, has problems eating and also must drink water and has finished treatment since February 2008.&amp;nbsp; Does it ever end?Help in Louisiana</description>
