Radiation After Chemo?

How many out there are Stage IV Stomach Cancer that after finishing chemo needed radiation? My husband is about to finish 12 rounds of chemo in May and he wanted to know how likely he is to receive radiation. Also, for those that had radiation, what are the side-effects?Any information you can share would be most appreciated.

RE: Radiation After Chemo?

Hello, my husband was treated for stage IV stomach cancer. After receiving his first round of chemo (this was post partial gastrectomy and esophagectomy), he had 25 radiation treatments. The treatments were in conjunction with chemo which he wore in a pack 24 hours a day. The radiation slightly "tanned" the stomach area. My husband had more nausea from the radiation than from the chemo and was very fatigued. After the radiation, he went back to chemo treatments again.Hope this helps,Diane
