Wow! An Update!

I'm home from the hospital- (discharged yesterday 4-6-08) after succesful removal of my right kidney and said mass. Path reports came back positive RCC- though I didn't ask about stage, etc. Back in to see doc on Thursday and will check then. Chest xrays, etc. all clear before operation. They started with lap procedure but had to finish "old school" as they felt position of the tumor on the end of the kidney was dangerously close to a major artery and I might bleed out- so along with my lap "holes" I have a gnarly looking 6 in. scar on my side. Feel pretty good- have not used any pain meds.Doc was motivated by me quick bounce back post op.Thanks for all the support and I'll keep you all posted on updates- wife and boy are fine.Dennis
