RE: Second opinions?

A second opinion saved my gallbladder. Doctors are all different. They wont tell you they dont know something usless they feel they really dont. Its all about the money. I went to one doctor that told me he was going to take my gall bladder with my kidney and when i got a second opion they told me they can save my gall bladder, it wasent that it wasent working it was just not getting the right blood flow due to the tumor. So instead of all that im just getting half of my kidney removed. Trust me its a good idea to get a second opionion expecially if you feel uncomfortable about something as serious as surgery. Im only 21 and I got a second opionon. And im glad i did. Mary

Thanks Mary, But, I'm actually looking for someone who's gotten a second opinion without actually visiting the doctor. I guess I didn't make that very clear. Places like the E-Cleveland Clinic offer advice through a review of your current medical records. They are called remote or online second opinions. I'm researching them for an article.

I would be extremely interested in any information you have on this "remote online second opinion" aspect. I am wanting to get a second opiniion from a reliable resource regarding my treatment. If you have any info that you can pass on, even how to contact this clinic, I would be so appreciative. Pat Thanks
