He was diagnosed Nov 06 and since went on a heroic journey trying every treatment of chemo available and then the radiation to the spine which finally I believe was just enough for him to handle. I have taken the journey with Mike not only for the past 29 years but thru the 16 months of his battle and I have learned alot thru this if anyone needs to just talk or ask any questions that I could assist in please write and we can share the experiences, Mike never complained, was mad or ever felt sorry for himself and I honor him for that and I will for the rest of my time on earth. I only hope one day that these battles stop as the cancer itself ends. My daughter Beth passed away from cervical cancer this past October.  She was only 29, but she too was an a true inspiration to all of us. She fought this battle beginning in 2003 when she was first diagnosed and treated. She did well until last April when she was again diagnosed with cancer, but this time it had metastisized and spread to her liver, lungs and bone. She never accepted defeat and till the moment she passed she was convinced she was going to beat this thing. She never complained or felt sorry for herself.  She endured the horrific chemo treatments and the unspeakable torture the disease and the related "treatments" that come with it.  She spent much of her time between diagnoses working to raise funds for cancer research and educating her high school students on health issues and specifically on cancer and cancer prevention and treatment.  She took great pride in being a "survivor". Though I miss her dearly, I take tremendous pride in saying she was my daughter.  She was also a true inspiration to her students and she made a lasting impression on them with her courage and commitment to making life better for those around her. She lived life by her favorite motto: LIVE WELL....... LAUGH OFTEN.......LOVE MUCH.   What she wanted most was to put an end to this horrible disease.  I am committed to carry on her fight and I too hope that no one else ever has to deal with this again.  My prayers are with you all.  I am available for anyone who just wants to talk about things. God bless you              Harry5177 Thu, 10 Apr 2008 00:00:00 GMT
