CancerCompass message board discussion started by suznj on 4/13/2008 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,23013,0.htm Thu, 24 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT Thu, 24 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ hey, im on my 14th day of a 28 day regimen with carac cream.  i happened on this site in my despair while researching this treatment.  my doc didnt prepare me to how painful and ugly a treatment this would be!  ive had 2 BCC and 1SCC removed as well as too many to count AK burned off in the past few years.  im using carac on my face, chest,arms and back and  i  look and feel like a monster!  i hope i can make it thru 28 days.  your message board has given me the emotional support i needed to continue for now.  hearing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel has helped.  right now im living on Advil.   suznj Sun, 13 Apr 2008 00:00:00 GMT Hi Suz,  What a brave girl to do do your arms, back, chest and face!  How do you sleep?  I am on day 21 of Carac to my face and chest.  Two nights ago it became almost unbearable.  I called the derm Monday morning and got a prescription for Vicodin.  Last night (Monday) was worse and the only reason I finally slept was the pain killer.  I could only lay on my back with nothing touching my chest.  Normally, I sleep on my side but it crunches my chest too much.  My chest has reacted more than my face but I would say, compared to the pics of others, I am having a fairly mild reaction (on my face).  I also am using a steriod cream that helps tremendously.  You might want to get a prescription for pain before the weekend. Also, there is a thread titled "Side effects of Efudex and Carac" several pages back on this message board that has 400+ posts that is very informative if you haven't already seen it.  Hang in there,Nan NanMich Tue, 15 Apr 2008 00:00:00 GMT nan,thanks for the info on carac.  i know just what you mean with your chest and laying on your side at night!  i must be covered with aks because my arms and chest look atrocious!  i wish i could hide in the house for the next few weeks but i have to go to work.  some people dont ask but i notice they dont want to use the phone after me. id rather have them ask and get it over with so they know im not contagious.  sad thing is im really gonna miss the sun this year, i used to be a real sun worshipper.  thanks for all your support.                                                       suz suznj Wed, 16 Apr 2008 00:00:00 GMT
