pain in neck and ears with alcohol low vitamin d3

I have been having problems with low Vitamin D and being treated with a very high dose of I believe ergocalceferol. My latest lab showed my overall d is up a little as well as my D2, however my D3 is continuing to fall and currently at 8.2. My primary Dr. said it is normal??? Normal for my D3 to continue to fall?? I didn't talk directly to him so I am not positive he really looked at the whole thing or just glanced at the overall result. I am waiting to hear from my endocrinologist. Anyway if anyone has any info on my falling D3 level I would appreciate it. I have been having ear and neck pain when I drink alcohol for some time now, also my uvula is crooked and pointing to one side instead of straight down as it had for the last 40 or so years. I live in a neighborhood with a high incidence of cancer also so I do want to be cautious.

RE: pain in neck and ears with alcohol low vitamin d3

I do know that a normal range for Vit D3 is above 50 at least. If you are being tested for Vit D3, make sure the right test is being done. Being low in Vit. D causes tons of problems, especially cancer concerns. Do some research and then TELL the doctors what you want and make sure that you get the answers you want. I supplement with D3 in the fall/winter months with 4000-5000 ius of D3 daily. I was 54 after being tested last time. So good luck and help yourself by doing your homework, trusting the next guy isn't always the way to go. Good luck

Thanks for your input. Still no answers. I may actually be toxic with too much d. I was thinking if it isn't converting then my supplements aren't being used, which could explain my hypercalcemia. I was overnight in the hospital with chest pains a few days ago, still in pain they are looking at my pancreas now, which could be due to toxic amounts of d.
