45 days of treatment completed

Well my mother-in-law just completed her last treatment for this round today. She was feeling pretty bad last week but I think knowing she was done this week has helped her really perk up. Today she was smiling and laughing. First time I've seen that for awhile...made me so happy and proud of her. She gets her tests in another 2 weeks and then we'll know more ( 95% resection 2/12/08 - GBM ) All please pray for her and ask that He heal her. God bless you all~

YAY! Hopefully her MRI will show either no new regrowth or even some shrinkage.

Your mother-in-law is one month ahead of me. I had my resection 3/14 and am in the second week of chemo and radiation. How old is she, I'm 63 and looking for someone around my age to see how they are doing. Can you tell me if she reacted to her treatment right away or did that come later? I want to be prepared. Have you gotten her results back yet? Wish you the best, I'll say a prayer.

I've never seen anything so awful. But there is hope. My mother in law is 46. Her first couple days of treatment she did get sick but then the dr gave her zofran and that seemed to take care of the nausea. Since then shes had no major side effects..but it depends where the tumor and cancer is located in the brain as to what the side effects expected can be. The worst that she has experienced is fatigue and tiredness. And when she got really tired she would slur her speech a little. You could still understand her but it wasn't clear. We actually don't get her test results until May 2nd. We have to give her brain some time in case there was swelling from the treatment (She's currently not on Decadron(steroids) or anything like that) I thank you for your concern and I as well will pray for you in this journey. It sure isn't an easy one but the support on here for patients and caregivers as well is enormous. If you ever need to just talk to someone feel free to e-mail me. God bless you~
