stem cell transplant

My sister is going in for round 2 of chemo and is scheduled to have a stem cell transplant if the MCL goes into remission. Does anyone have information about the success of the stem cell transplant?

Please review CancerCompass Member Guidelines at http://www.cancercompass.com/common/guidelines.html-- My husband has MCL stage IV, he's just had R-CHOP number 5 and will have number 6 in a few weeks, then goes on to the procedure for auto transplant. PET/CAT scans were done just before session 5, also blood test and bone marrow biopsy. Good news was that the scans and bone marrow show zero cancer, but the blood test still shows cancer cells. Can I ask you (or anyone else who has been through this and reads this message) if you also still had cancer cells showing in the blood at around this stage? Also can I please ask if the radiation treatment you are having is a maintenance therapy? We have heard that some people have continuing treatment with Rituxan as maintenance after transplant and I'm just trying to gather info and experiences to discuss with the specialists.Meantime keep up the good progress and every good wish to you!Debbie
