People interested in alternative treatment and diet/survival

To anyone who is living with stomach cancer,I am posting a message for the first time since my diagnoses of stage 4 gastric adenocarcinoma (stomach cancer) in Feb. 2007. I believe I would have died without being treated with Oxalyplatin and Xeloda which I had good results from until the cancer came back. My oncologist says it will be a matter of time before I die from this disease. I laugh and tell him I never believe anything he says. He said I could take another chemo treatment but it would only prolong my life another couple of months. I said no thanks. I'm stubborn and a fighter and am not giving up. Chemotherapy ended last June 4th. It took me a while to figure out what I can and cannot eat which seems to be the key to keeping my stomach from feeling sick. I eat lots of veges and whole grains in soups and stews, drink mostly water and take vitamins and supplements as much as my stomach can handle them.I also do alternative treatments as I can afford them and need to discipline myself to get in more yoga, exercise and meditation. It hasn't been easy.I would really like to get in touch with survivors of this type of cancer to find out what you are doing to stay alive and to trade information. I believe in natural healing and diet to fight this cancer.Keeping up the fight, Becky333

My dad was told he has stomach cancer that has gone to the liver back in January. So far he has had 3 chemo treatments 3 weeks apart. Today the ct scan results were that there has been a 50% decrease in everything. He had his fourth treatment today and the doctor thinks he may only need two more. After that they are going to scan again and check him. He has been doing really well. Not really any side effects. Besides the chemo he is taking goji juice, apricot seeds and the b17 tablets. I recently ordered the pau d'arco tea but have not received that yet. He is going to take that as well. Last week his kidney doctor told him that his kidney function is the best its ever been in the 13 years that he has had diabetes and his blood work has always been very good so far.

My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer and had an operation a couple of weeks ago. She had 2/3 of her stomach taken out.Besides chemo we are also interested in alternative treatments. I have read a lot about Chinese herbal medicine and that its use can help patients go through chemo better and that it also can shrink tumours. I believe that there is a lot of truth in that but the problem is finding a good herbalist. There are lots of pills available over the internet coming from China but who knows what is good and what is not? That is the problem. One other form of alternative treatment that I have interest in is Chinese Chigung (in Japanese it is Kikoo). A trained practitioner of chigung can send out CHI or energy from his fingers that can also attack and decrease the size of tumours. It sounds all hokus pokus but having been exposed to it myself I know that there is something there. If you live close to a large city that has a Chinatown there may be a Chigung centre closeby.Homeopathic medicine is also interesting and worth a shot. Basically I intend to leave no stone unturned in trying to help my mother and if it works, then why not?

He had not injected himself with the sheep drench, but had drank small doses of the stuff over a period of time, and this he claimed cured his cancer. The sheep drench had contained this silver in it.Regards Joy.

Since you are interested in Chi gong you might find Tong Ren interesting. The man who developed the Tong Ren system is also an acupuncturist and chi gong master. The tong ren practitioners in some areas meet and hold "guinea pig class". We also do conference phone calls with stage 4 cancer patients, and as crazy as it seems, people respond to the energy while we do the calls. Study being done at Harvard Medical School in conjunction with Dana Farber. There are many miraculous cancer stories to stir their interest. Can find info on conference calls and tong ren at tongrenworld.com. Stage 4 call group called In-Betweeners may not be listed there, but if you try calls and would like specific info on the stage 4 group call, you could email me privately for the info. Not much to lose at this stage of the game.We also have used homeopathy for years, and have found a lot of relief with the moment to moment discomforts, as well as some of the horrors resulting from treatments. Fortunately the oncologist is open and I am able to let her know we do other things in our attempt to remain out of chemo and have some quality of life.
