Cetuximab

A family member has been offered a clinical trial using cetuximab. Although he is diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer, I wondered if anyone has experience with this drug and has any information about whether it was successful, how bad were side effects and how did you manage the side effects. Thank you and God Bless.

RE: Cetuximab

My father is receiving Centuximab aka Erbitux for Stage IV Colon Cancer. So far the only reaction he has had from ANYTHING has been the Centuximab which has given him a rash. Other than that, he is feeling great and looking great. The rash is more of a self-conscience thing for him, but our Oncologist seems to think highly of this Centuximab...my Dad is also in a clinical trial. I have posted a few times on here before about it, but our Oncologist told us it is known as the "Martha Stewart Drug" because it is what she went to prison for with the inside information on the stock of Centuximab. I won't know much until my Dad gets his first Re-Evaluation in about more weeks, but his appetite is fine and he is still working and he is a Carpenter who roughs houses! I feel very confident about the drug in conjunction with his Chemo and I believe that it will ultimately be our blessing!

RE: Cetuximab

Hope your dad is doing well still. Good to hear he just had the expected rash. Mom is to start clinical trial this week for IV nscLungC. metz'd to liver, lymph nodes. Recent CT shows in the brain and maybe bones (find out tomorrow) Her first chemo went great, 75% shrinkage in main lung tumor. Worried weather trial drug will be best for her or not. Especially since getting news on Brain tumors today. Said liver is more important to treat at this time than brain. Very worried about rash as she had one with her first chemo round and was very irritated and worried about it more than her cancer! It's been a few months since your dad's started, any update? Thanks, Kathy
