Branchiogenic Carcinoma-brachial Cleft Cyst

My friend's husband was diagnosed with this type of cancer and she doesn't know much about it. Does any one know a website (not written in "doctor speak") that she can visit for more info? I have tried Googling it but the sites that it pulled up weren't very helpful.

Thanks,
Rebecca

Brachial Cleft Cyst Carcinoma

I can't give you any sites that are good. i had this type of cancer 4 years ago and could find very little information on the subject. most sites then seemed to say there was no such cancer. i had surgery and radiation and have done fine for 4 years with no effects.

RE: Branchiogenic Carcinoma-brachial Cleft Cyst

29 days ago my husband had what we thought was a cyst removed. It turned out to be a squamous cell tumor. The dr. was certain it was secondary. He's had biopsies, tonsillectomy, and most recently a PET scan. All were negative. The dr. now thinks it is brachial cleft carcinoma. He says my husband would be the 13th reported case. Not sure how he arrived at this number? I've also searched the net and came across criteria. I don't understand all the terminology but we are going for a 2nd opinion to UCLA next week. Hopefully, they will confirm the info we've been given so far. Anyway, this type of cancer seems to bring more hope than a possible metastisized cancer. I'll check back after our UCLA appt. if I have anything helpful to share.

I have a friend that was just diagnosed with Brac.Cleft Cyst Carcinoma. He is waiting to get one more pathology report from the local surgeon and then plans on going to the Scotsdale Mayo Clinic. How is your husband doing?Any suggestions? My friend was told that it was likely that this cancer was "secondary" and that there is probably a primary source that has yet to be identified.Any suggestions / advice would be greatly appreciated!Seeley
