New on line and to cancer!

Well, I really don't know what to say.... the doctors told us my mom has stomach cancer just this month. She has turned down chemo treatment (for now)....she feels she is to weak for chemo, but she is doing radaition 5 days a week for 5 to 7 weeks. This is my first go around with what cancer does not only to the person who has it,but to the people that have to stand and watch.....and who just want to save them and I hate it!!!! I just want my mom to be ok.....she is the backbone to our family and my best friend! I am just 30 and have no idea what to do.

I am so sorry about your mom's diagnosis. I lost my mom 28 years ago; I was 32 and she was 54 to uterine cancer. Sometimes the emotional aspect of cancer is harder on the caregiver and the family than the patient. Trust your mom's decision not to have chemo now and support her. She knows her body. Talk to her and listen to what she says to you. She knows you are hurting, believe me. She needs your support through this and you will be strong for her. It's scary but you'll get through it for your mom. Tell her you love her. Pray alot. You will be in my thoughts and prayers,Diane

Thank you sooo much! I needed to hear that. I am trying to be strong for her, but falling apart inside. I am so sorry about your mom. I don't know what I would do without mine.
