Chemo and Radiation W/o Surgery

I had all 3. I was stage IV and my doctor convinced me that the odds of recurrance were less with the neck dissection. I had 38 lymph nodes removed, and all were negative. Find a medical librarian to find suitable research papers.

Tonsil Cancer Treatment - Chemo & Radiation

Sorry for the late response. I was treated for stage 4 tonsillar cancer on the right side with chemo and radiation only - no surgery. My Dr. at Sloan Kettering (who is one of the best) advised that they stopped doing the routine neck dissections around 3 years ago. I also consulted with an excellent Dr. at Dana Farber who said the same thing. My last treatment was 12/7/04 and so far, so good. I'm living with some side effects from the radiation but that's okay - I'm still here!
